Here is a snippet of the text :

“Exhaling a lungful of smoke I watch as it curls around my face in a fleeting embrace then takes its leave via the open window. I shift my forehead against the cool glass that is currently my anchor. An anchor for the thoughts that are insistent on their continuous buzzing around my mind.”

The last month has been absolutely crazy in terms of work. Tomorrow I get to hand in 3 modules worth of work and in turn finish the second year of my degree…!

A large chunk of said month (6 weeks.really..) was spent on this book - which is a wordless/graphic novel style interpretation of a section of a Norse Myth. It changed so many times and was a lot of hard hard work - but it is done! :)

Its been really really really busy the past few weeks - with the end of the year looming close after the easter break….been spending lots of time developing a way of working/storyboards for a book project we have going on at the moment…think I have finally found a way of going about it that I like…?

We were given 3 texts and asked to produce a 32-page bound book...

We were given 3 texts and asked to produce a 32-page bound book using only typography and no imagery. It was a challenge and sometimes rage-inducing ehem - Photoshop. Illustrator. But I am happy with how it turned out. All of the type was hand-drawn then coloured digitally :)

It was interesting to work on real-life editorial briefs and it is so nice to see an image used within the context of an article…
